Terms & Conditions

By engaging BlackSpade Gardens for any service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking.
1. About Us
BlackSpade Gardens provides professional garden maintenance, landscaping, pressure washing, garden clearance, commercial grounds maintenance and seasonal garden services.

2. Our Services
We provide the following services across London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Wales and surrounding areas:
- Garden Maintenance (lawn mowing, hedging, weeding, edging)
- Landscaping Labour (paving, turfing, fencing, planting)
- Pressure Washing (driveways, patios, pathways, walls)
- Garden Clearances (waste removal, overgrown clearance)
- Commercial Grounds Maintenance
- Seasonal Garden Services
All services are subject to site assessment, availability and agreement of price prior to commencement.
3. Quotes & Pricing
All quotes are provided free of charge and without obligation. Quotes are based on the information and photographs provided at the time of enquiry.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued
- A quote is an estimate only; the final price may vary if the scope of work differs materially from what was described
- Any additional work identified on-site will be communicated and agreed before proceeding
- VAT will be applied where applicable and will be clearly stated in your quote
4. Bookings & Scheduling
A booking is confirmed when both parties have agreed on the scope of work, price and date in writing (including via WhatsApp or email). A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required to secure your booking. The deposit will be deducted from the final invoice on completion of the work.
- We will make every reasonable effort to arrive at the agreed time
- Arrival times may be affected by traffic, weather or prior job overruns — we will notify you as soon as possible if this occurs
- In the event of severe weather making work unsafe or impractical, we reserve the right to reschedule
5. Cancellation & Rescheduling

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule visits due to circumstances beyond our control (extreme weather, equipment failure, illness). In such cases no charge will be applied.
6. Payment Terms
- Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing
- A £50 deposit is required on all bookings to secure your date — this is deducted from the final invoice
- For larger projects, an additional deposit of up to 50% of the total job value may be required before work commences
- We accept bank transfer (BACS), cash and card payment
- Invoices not paid within 14 days may incur a late payment charge of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998
- Recurring maintenance contracts are invoiced monthly in arrears unless otherwise agreed
7. Liability & Insurance
BlackSpade Gardens holds full public liability insurance. We operate to professional standards on all jobs.
- Our liability is limited to the value of the work agreed for the specific job
- We are not liable for pre-existing damage, faults or weaknesses in structures, plants, surfaces or utilities
- We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or economic losses
- We are not responsible for damage caused by hidden underground utilities, roots, pipes or cables not disclosed prior to work
8. Your Responsibilities
As a customer you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when requesting a quote
- Ensure safe and reasonable access to the property on the agreed date
- Inform us of any hazards, buried services, fragile surfaces or special requirements before work begins
- Secure or remove pets, children and valuables from the work area
- Ensure gates, locks and access codes are communicated in advance for scheduled visits
9. Property & Damage
We take all reasonable care when working on your property. In the unlikely event of accidental damage caused by our team:
- You must notify us in writing within 48 hours of the visit
- Claims notified after this period may not be accepted
- We will assess the damage and respond within 5 working days
- Where liability is accepted, repair or replacement will be arranged at our cost
10. Waste Removal
BlackSpade Gardens is a licensed waste carrier. All garden waste removed is disposed of legally and responsibly.
- Waste removal is included in clearance jobs unless stated otherwise
- Hazardous materials (asbestos, chemicals, contaminated soil) are outside the scope of our standard service and will require specialist disposal at additional cost
- We do not accept responsibility for items incorrectly identified as waste by the customer
11. Complaints
We take all complaints seriously and aim to resolve them promptly and fairly.
- Please raise any concerns as soon as possible — ideally on the day of the visit
- Formal complaints should be submitted in writing to contact@www.blackspadegardens.co.uk
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and provide a full response within 10 working days
- Where a complaint relates to quality of work, we may arrange a return visit to assess and remedy the issue at no extra charge
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
